Thread: Premed bonaire sept 2011

So I'm looking for an apartment for this September. I was wondering what areas would be the best (with respect to safety and closeness to campus) and how I would go about getting one of these places. I need major help from someone who has been through this before. PLEEEEEAAASE!!!

dont worry yourself much bro, that's another easy part as along as you have the money you will get an apartment. Dont rent anything now until you see the place and many of us will be here when you get here to show you the place and get you situated. its better to stay by the old campus since there is more to do and you have more access to all the stores. as you get closer the chicago office will give you a list and you can start making contact, so 2 things to remember come down 3 to 4 days early, and check out hotel rocheline in bonaire online and make a reservation to stay there for a few days and we will take care of you.
on a side note i dont like the idea of doing pre-med here though for many reasons that have been discussed on these forums.

Thanks Keith11423, you've calmed me down quite a bit lol. Have you done premed at this campus/ could you sum up what you don't like about it. Just trying to get a heads up because my deposits been paid for now ugh.

im gonna tell you plain and simple about doing premed in the caribbean is not a good idea period, not just because of St James. just oing to med school in the caribbean makes it harder for us to get residencies in the states so we're coming as an underdog. Most states ask for 60 or 90 college credits from an accredited american university in order to be licensed so you will have two things working against you. in my opinion its much better to go to a community college and take up 90 credits and apply straight to med school, coming here for premed you will be here for three years. might as well stay home go to a community college,save money and still be home. Pre-med here is not worth it bro, it will bite you in the long run,no short cut to medicine. this is from the NYS licesing board for the educ requirement.

1. Preprofessional Education: Satisfactory completion of 60 semester hours of college study from a New York State registered program or the equivalent as determined by the New York State Education Department.
