I have used dove the entire time I've been here...never any mushy/falling apartness. Are you letting it sit in the water in the shower?

One thing guys-think about how much deodorant you will need to bring and then bring twice as much. You'll use alot here.

Any truth to the Type O's being more desireable to mosquitos?

Don't bother with the Brita filter, it won't do you any good. If you are concerned about the water quality, you should bring a PUR Ultimate filter. It is the only one that filters out Giardia and Cryptosporidium, in addition to common water contaminants such as chlorine, nitrates and other fertilizer/chemicals.
