What about girls? in some places they say that we should bring a light sun dress and in some places they say that it should be a professional dress. I have a little dress that's very nice but kind of casual and not professional, and still haven't figured out if that one is going to be ok or not.
can some of the girls from previous terms please tell us what they wore?

Thanks,
Nas

I would bring a sundress and nice shoes ("nice" meaning, not flip flops) for the white coat ceremony...

have you not read the threads on skype and calling home? don't bring your cell phone down to the island unless it's a tri or quad band phone and is unlocked, if you don't know what that means then just don't bring your phone down. people use skype, vonage, or their grenada cell phones to call home. skype is 2cents a min, vonage is like $30 a month, and the greanada cell phone is 30cents a min. you pick what you want to use all three work fine.

Are you talking about calling home like as soon as you land? Otherwise, see RJ's post. If your flight goes through San Juan then you will still be able to use your US cell phone there. Once you get to Grenada your cell phone will only be a fancy clock, won't be able to call anyone with it. If you have nice students greeting you there they might let you use your phone to call your parents. If they are that nice, try not to talk too long! Last semester I let a guy use my phone to call home and he walked off and talked for 20 minutes.

You can use your Cingular/At&t phone in Grenada but it is expensive (~1.99/min). You need you call customer service and get international roaming activated.

you can do that with t-mobile as well

they used to give you a phone card when you checked in with your RA so you can call home- do they not do that anymore?
