Welcome to ValueMD. Reading other people's posts is a valuable source of information, and if you had done so, then you wouldn't have to waste your time making a new post and waiting for an answer - you'd have your answer already.

Try using a search to locate the information you are looking for. Put "storage" in the key work box, select St. George's University SOM under the forums box, and click search. You'll find many, many threads on your topic of interest, complete with advantages, disadvantages, etc.

Storage Question

Thanks for the note EMT. Yes, I agree posting the same question does seem tedious to all those who have read this information previously but when one cannot find the answers after searching then one is left to unfortunately repeat the same question again ..So if anyone knows has any imput to where things can be stored during breaks your help and time would be greatly appreciated!!! Enjoy the day!

Hmm, I just followed EMT's oh-so-detailed instructions.

The 7th one down (has a catchy title, I think).

And the 17th one down

I've even provided you with highlighting just in case.

If someone has an inordinate amount of free time, that someone should make a FAQ and sticky it. Though chances are we'd still have repeat questions over and over again.

If you plan on doing the Hash runs (yeah HHH) then a camelback is very very nice to have.

It's a specialized type of waterbottle for people that go running, biking, rockclimbing, etc. At least, I think so.

The magical power of google will probably reveal more.

A couple of misc items

If you plan on cooking, don't forget to bring down a good knife and cutting board. They were things that I overlooked, and had mailed down to me.

Bring duct tape. You can never have too much and you will need to use it at some point, trust me!!!

Although this has been brought up, I must say that 1st termers DO NOT need a printer!!! You'll appreciate the extra space that you will get by not bringing it.

I do strongly advice bringing a web cam and headset for talking to loved one's back home. Some people only bring the webcam, but if you are in one of the super dorms and have to resort to going out into the hallway to use skype, you will appreciate having the headset!!!

The best advice I can give is to check with your airline to see what your weight limit is. The overweight fine is pretty hefty, and some airlines will even make you take stuff out (ecspecially when you are leaving Grenada!!!)

If you forget anything, don't panic!!! The island has pretty much everything that you need.

I must say, bringing coasters for the bed wheels is a great idea. I've tried to lock the wheels on my bed many times!

It is a backpack with a soft bladder and a drinking hose attached. They are used in many outdoor activities and they disperse the weight of the liquid as not to weigh on the hips. Very useful for climbing, running or hiking.

The Hash runs are a great way to release stress and see the isle! Shoot me a PM if you want some info when we get down there (9 days for me).

John

How about sheets for true blue slash other dorms???
Are they the twin longs.. or fulls??

Can we bring cutting knives down in our checked luggage? ie don't we need steak knives and chopping knives, how are we suppose to bring it if we can't get it on the plan..
I don't want some baggage handler tossing through my luggage to get at a kitchen knife i have packed in there...

The beds in the dorms are regular twin beds, not extra long and not full.
As for the knives, I think you're ok bringing the knives in your checked baggage, just don't try to go through security with them (i.e. carry-on bag).
