Scrubs and White lab coat

Is it recommended that bring down a couple of pairs of scrubs and/or a white lab coat for courses integrated with a lab (eg. A&P)?

bring 2 pairs of scrubs. you can wear either scrub or a labcoat for lab. but you will be given a whitecoat for the whotecoat ceremony, so u can just wear/use that if you want.

I am debating getting a regular laptop or a tablet PC. Laptops are generally more powerful that tablets, but since I don't intend to use the machine for games or any graphical applications the idea of being able to just write and draw into my computer sounds appealing. However, like I said tablets come with less RAM and smaller hard drives and are usually more expensive. Anyone that used both that can post some info about them?

Thanks for the info. You're the man of knowledge - you seem to answer just about every one of my postings - Thanks

One more question for today - does anyone have an opinion as to whether we should bring our own printer, or not? I'm debating - I'd rather not, but if it's essential, I'll do it.

not essential at all- there are printers in the library- but it IS very convenient during 4th term - there is so much that you have to print out that its nice not to be constrained by the availablity of the library printers

I have never used a tablet so can't speak first hand. My opinion is that they're great as an expensive toy. There are at least 3 guys in my class that have tablets and only one of them I ever see using his regularly for classwork.

There isn't that much drawing to do in lecture (as opposed to note-taking) as it's not like this is engineering where you're mapping out circuits, gates, etc. There was maybe some drawing in Embryo though.

I don't know about you, but I can type a hell of a lot faster than I can write. Use a program like MS OneNote or something instead.

I'd buy a tablet as a secondary PC/toy if I had a main machine i.e. desktop, at home but for the reasons you listed earlier i.e. price vs. what you can get in a normal laptop for less money, a laptop wins in my book hands down. I also don't game so I'm not biased to the more powerful machines in that regard either.

Another thing is that if you're like me and fingerprints/smudges drive you nuts, a tablet will drive you to an early grave. *grin*

In the end, of course, it's up to you. Either will work and it's not like you can't run anything on a tablet that you can run on a PC. You maybe get the best of both worlds. Type on the tablet when you want to and write on it otherwise.
