I know a few ( read one or two) who have rotated through there. Very bad neighborhood, the train is about five blocks or so away, but the bus stops right outside. BC of the high crime/violence area, and the Level I trauma designation, they get alot of trauma- MVAs and GSWs esp. From what I hear it is pretty good learning experience.

What MSIV said.. rough neighborhoods tend to go hand in hand with great learning experiences. You will also rotate with lots of Ross students which tend to make you feel like you went to the best med school in the world!

Deathdale

or "Brookdale" as its formally known, is as described: in one of the worst most depressing neighborhoods known to humankind, but you will see-and DO- more as a students than most interns do. Make use of it. Warning: if youre female, get used to patients screaming "NURSE!" at you. That never even happened at the near-all-male-4-month experience I had in internship. But every bleeding day at Brookdale.
