can someone tell me about banking in grenada, atm machines etc. thanks
well, for banking there are several ones u can choose from: RBTT, Nova Scotia, and NCB...most students opt for RBTT because u get an atm card and rbtt has a small branch on campus along with an atm machine in the so called student center. it's really convinient to go with rbtt. you can also use your US atm card on their machine...i have a visa debit card and i can withdraw from my US account; the only thing is you'll receive your cash in EC....the machine converts it and the exchange rate isn't too bad. some students don't bother opening an account down there and just use their US atm card to withdraw money. also, i've heard of few students who cash their refund check entirely into traveller's checks and cash. therefore, they don't have to deal with the dilemmas of opening an account & banking in grenada. though, safety becomes an issue....it all depends on how well u hide the dough.
hope that helps....
oh, the rbtt atm card can also be used as a debit card at real value supermarket and few other stores and restaurants.

is there acharge for using atm machine using usa card
I have had no problems using my ATM card form home at Grenada ATM terminals. I think the access charge differs with the bank you have at home. My bank charges me $0.75 US per transaction. My roommate's bank charged her $1.50 US. The ATM machine on campus tends to run out of money quickly, in such a case you'll have to catch a bus to a bank off campus. There is a NCB (True Blue branch) bank on the main bus route that has an ATM machine or you can get off the bus when it gets to the Round houses and take a stroll north to the RBTT, Nova Scotia, or NCB (Grand Anse branch). I bank with NCB and opened a US account with them my first term. If you open an EC account you'll get a ATM card with them. Hope that helped.![]()
hi what is the bank you use, that charges only $.75 for the ATM international fee? that's a lot better than my $3 rate.
Unfortunately, my bank is a credit union in South Florida. It's not nation wide. Sorry.
