Thread: Urgent Advice Needed

I plan on applying to St. George for the Jan 06 class. I made a 220 (6p 8v 8b) on the MCAT. (and my gpa is a 3.0) Should I take the MCAT again or should I just go ahead and apply with my current score?????? Also, with such low scores will I have a better chance of getting in if I apply early? If so, what is considered early (i.e. by what month)?

I say apply ASAP even though you can sit and retake the MCAT if you wait for those scores to come in the class most likely will be mostly full. As it stands some people who applied for the Aug class got put in the Jan class because it was full. So apply and see what happens... in the mean time find a job you'll enjoy for the next few months if you haven't already.

I know the med school thing seems like the most important thing in your life, but its not. The sooner you realize this the better of you'll be. There are more important things in life to worry about. If medicine is something you really want to persue, then eventually you'll get in. Judging by your stats, i think you will definitely get in Jan, but whats the rush? You'll burn yourself out. If your graduating in Dec then why not give yourself a little break and apply for August 06. But if you are set on Jan, you need to apply ASAP. with a 3.0 youre not likely to get into a us school, but you never know. if you dont mind taking it again, you might consider it. as for sgu, just apply and tell them youre taking it again. good luck.
