3rd Term Books

Hey guys, can any uppertermers or new alumns give us advice as to what 3rd Term books to get? The classes seem so mish-mashed together, with Behavioral, Biostats/Public Health/Epidemiology, and Jurisprudence/Medical Ethics. Which ones do we NEED for the classes, and which ones should we have for the future, ie. Step 1? Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, I would be interested as well... Conventional wisdom that I've heard so far is that you don't need any books, that the class notes are fine... Anyone want to confirm/refute?

MICRO GRADES ARE OUT

i only used 2 books in 3rd term -a quick scan of Health policy and I read the Ethics book. You really don't need all that stuff, although you may want a good book for stats if you've never taken that in college (regression and all that can get kinda tricky in their multiple choice tests)

BRS Behavorial will be helpful for Step 1, but not for this term, just use the notes. Jurisprudence notes are decent, you may want to read those cases somehow. Ethics books you don't need if u go to class and listen to every single word but that's hard. The book will give u a better understanding.

Basically I didn't buy any books at all for 3rd term, just checked out health policy and ethics from the library.

Term 3 books

Any books you need to read for Term 3 reading assignments, etc. are on reserve in the library. So, you may need to read a bit for Ethics (late in the term) and Behavioral maybe, but you can borrow it for a couple of hours and that's more than enough time. They'll even let you borrow overnight if you go after 4pm.

The only thing I bought was the Juris notes. Read them front to back & you'll nail all the questions on the exam.

It's tempting to skip classes 3rd term, but I'd advise against it. Mainly coz if you go to class & are attentive, you pretty much don't have to study except for the pre-exam Sunday. So, just three days out of the whole term! It was a good trade off for me.

Come to think of that, that's sorta what I did 1st, 2nd & still doing 4th term, too. Hmmmm. Maybe on to something here....
