basically all the stuff for rotations and all the stuff for residency--will there be some sort of info session about that?
Did you not attend Dr ___- or Dr ____presentations? Dr ------ told you that everything you need to know and do for years 3-4 is contained in your printed student clinical manual, which they also gave us in electronic format on CD. _--- went over the process of securing inside and outside electives, as well as the reasons for doing outside electives.

You can try and pass this off as the school failed you, but it's obvious to your class mates that you were either too uninterested to pay attention or too intimidated to get clarification while you had the chance.

SGU Administration may not be the most on top of things, but at some point you need to start paying attention to what they do tell you. They aren't all old dogs in Bay Shore...some times they do learn new tricks...ala the new clinical manual.

May I suggest you "actually" read the emails that our SGA reps are sending out from Dr. ------ . They seem to contain a lot of good info.

Ok, sorry for the annoyed response. It just sounded like one of the many whiners in the class that never seem to pay attention and act as though it's always someone else's fault or the administration's in this case.

But in response to your question, yes everything is explained to you in Vinnies. This assumes that your attend the Hospital Placement meeting and Q&A with the Dean of the SOM (not the same thing as the Dean of Students) and the Career Guidance presentation by the Dean of the Office of Career Guidance. They tell you the gist of the information, but the real details are in the manauls and are on the CD's. All of that information however is accessible to you now on the Official Clinical Website on Quickplace. All the student manual files are there for you to read. It's your official guide to the 3rd and 4th year and your responsibility for fullfiling and adhering to for graduation requirements and evenutally licensing.

Shucks, I read that thing the summer before I started at SGU. I had to know what the whole 4 years was about before I dived in. It's been the only thing that kept me going these last two years....and in 6 weeks and two days I'll be 1 Step closer to that dream of being called....Dr. Houstonian.

Now, if I can just figure out what to do post Step 1...heaven knows I've wished I could have been doing a million other things while I was in school, and now I can't seem to think of them...although sitting on a comfortable recliner with a remote in one hand, a cold drink in another, and only being awake enough to go back to sleep after eating sounds like a pretty good plan unless something better comes up. Gone are the delusions of studying for rotations and Step 2.
