If the U.S. didn't accept any foreign grads, the health system as we know it would fall apart. Currently, only 64% of those filling residency positions are from LCME accredited schools. (And 11% from AOA accredited schools.) Sorry, couldn't resist feeding the troll... Still, it makes for some great entertainment to see what he says next.

Ross vs. SGU vs. Saba

Hello,
Getting back to the original post, if cost is an important factor for you, you should consider Saba. It is now CA and NY approved, putting it in parity with AUC, Ross, and SGU. The USMLE pass rates are comparable, as are the match rates. The cost of attending Saba is a fraction of what SGU and Ross cost.

Also, Saba is extremely safe, and very beautiful. The island is volcanic and tropical, and the homes are Dutch colonial cottages. The downside of the island is that it is so small, only 5 square miles. There is very little to do, other than study, which can be both good and bad.

One true advantage that SGU has over the other schools is its clinical affiliation with the Beth Israel Medical Centers.

Back to the original topic
I really think SGU is a good school, I am happy that I picked it over all the others. But it is however very expensive. But I really didnt like any of the other schools. Its a lot of money and believe me that things are far from perfect. but really check out the schools and see what you want. Please dont make your decision on money alone. Coz Ross is almost just as expensive as SGU when you factor in all the expenses its like 46K vs 52k. You must remember that it must be a school, where you will be comfortable for four years, with two years on the island.
Good luck with your decision

LCME' offer

LCME offered SGU accreditation in the past, but asked to eliminate the January enrolment. The offer was turned down by the chancellor.
