oh man, Dr. Nimitt, you sure do know how to make a guy feel better about SGU!!!

what does categorical mean? and this is DEFINITELY going to sound stupid, but what are "PD's"? physician's dogs? Private Detectives? Physical Diagnosers?

oh, and Dr. Nimitt, are you in general surgery?

NOTE!!! please keep the random topics off the other threads and ONLY in the 'Who?' thread!! We are rapidly gaining on AUC(hahaha suckas!) and we just need to make sure we remember that this forum is for useful topics of conversation(well, every thread by this one!). So please dont make Jaywalk and myself sad, sad people, please stick to topic!!!!!

That was funny! Categorical are the 3, 4 or 5 year residency spot (mainly refers to medicine and surgery) as opposed to the pre lim which are 1 year residents and who have to reapply for their 2nd year or start 1st year over again.

Yes daguru I am a general surgery resident (well intern...to be specific). Man that sounds good. Of course I will find out July 1st how good it sounds. 5:30 am pre round baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fact

I will tell you right now its not! No intern in his right mind would do an autopsy of a patient behind their chief residents back and without consent. No intern has the balls to do that! Not to mention that is grounds for being kicked out of the program.

Just as a fun fact: NJ has a state law called the Maggie law that says that if a person (applies to everyone particularly to residents) who has been awake for more than 24 hours and has not had at least 1 hour of sleep gets into an accident while driving and the other person dies then the driver will be held for vehicular homicide which is a felony! Now I dont know about you but if I had one hour of sleep in the 30 hours I worked you can better beleive that one hour isnt going to do me any good and wouldnt make me any better of a driver than if I had no sleep at all.
