who?

I'm really amazed at how much the school cares about our biochem education. I can only imagine the amount of cheese it took to bag a winner like one certain Biochimie (that's French) professor. He used to work with some really smart people. One of those was a Knight of the Realm, tapped on the shoulders by the Queen mother. This guy used to work at the NSA for crying out loud. A genius in every sense of the word. I don't know what moth flight muscles have to do with code breaking. But, I'm sure he figured it out. I'll bet his old co-workers are proud of the fact that he's way down here instructing on things and writing handouts. He's a true american patriot with a funny accent. I think he's from Vermont. Thank you Dr. Feetchevy! You're a gentleman and a scholar!

i think the way the moth flight muscles flap has something to do with how terrorists communicate with morse code frequencies sent via radio-controlled chipmunks with small satellite dishes built into their dorsal skin. the terrorists are everywhere, and nukular war is a definite option. we'll have to use some strategery and some moth flight muscle code breaking to save ourselves from imminent destruction.

in other news, quick question: why does that dude from the med school in australia post on here all the time, if only to tell us how much better australia is than anywhere else in the world? if you are reading this, mr. australia md man, im not trying to pick a fight, im just curious...

Tami, I'm just repeating what I heard some other students repeating about what they thought they heard one afternoon between classes while hung over. (them, not me.) So, yeah. I'm definitely positive on this one! He's a Nobel candidate if I saw one........and I haven't.

Ya don't say....!

This is a great example of the SGU telephone game working as well as the rumor mill does.....NIH is just a tad different from NSA.
For one, as far as I know, not many espionage & thriller novels/movies have been written revolving around the NIH and its exploits!

Hilarious! Or maybe it's just my entertainment threshold plummeting due to an acute case of forthtermitis?!

taken abstractly, researching the genomes of various species and funding the research in the fight against aids and cancer and whatnot is somewhat thrilling/adventurous...you know, in that long, tedious, grant proposal writing takes months and is quite nitpicky and annoying kind of way.

sorry, i have some bad memories from writing a grant proposal to those guys...i got the money for research, but man was it a pain...

anyway, the gossip is even juicier, i heard that the lady who works at the wrap station at pearl's was the ACTUAL scientist who did the research, then a certain biochem professor stole it from her, so she was forced to get a job wrapping wraps, and then the research got stolen from that professor, so HE ended up coming down here and teaching about DNA. either way, they are both very nice people, one feeds me on a regular basis and the other taught me some mean biochem....too bad about the research thing, but i hope they are both happy!

i really like this thread...
