Chill out Nick
if you or anyone has a problem with Mr. Thyroid Guy, then you should tell him so. I mean aren't we all professionals? After all, he sits in your row and only a few rows ahead of everyone else. Go ahead and visit with him and quit talking about him behind his back and on this board. It's very unprofessional. Don't you go to CSA???? |

also you dont seem to have any complaints about the eastern block fashion show which shows up later than him. yeah. its not like Mr. Thyroid hasnt been approached about his interuptions. been listening to his personal questions for almost 2 years now. if you know him so well do him a favor and talk to him. leave dr.nick out of this. most of all dont ruin the temperature of this thread. |

Professionalism sucks
I hate the word unprofessional, I really do. It's like when they told us that first day that doctors need to be professional, for many people it was like discovering the cure for cancer or something. People then started to be on this high perch and saying "this is professional", "that's not professional", "I'm a doctor, and I'm better than everyone else, and I'm a professional".
What does that really mean? Does professional mean being courteous, having respect for people, carrying out your responsibilities, having some common sense? If so, was this quality never present in people before coming to med school and now just because you're gonna be a doctor, you have to develop these qualities? What about just being a regular human being, are you absolved from those duties? what I find ironic is that SOME of the people who lectured others on professionalism were those that were obnoxious to local Grenadians because they had to wait in line for a couple extra minutes, whined about every little minute detail, or showed their true colors when the hurricane hit, and instead of asking how can I help those in need, asked who do I pay to get out of this hellhole. Sorry for the diatribe, I just encountered that word from too many wrong people in our school. |
