After hearing that I was furious that they could even suggest that their color should dictate that they get Maimo or Methodist and the rest of the students of color should get Brookdale.
ouch. this is sad to hear but i cant say im surprised. in all walks and in professions this is a sad fact that cant be escaped. dont be furious it will land you nowhere. you shouldnt get yourself worked up over other peoples shortcomings. where should i go im a zebra?

are u sure this is a true story? if so, i am ashamed and saddened to be in the same dinky little island school as them...i guess thats what happens when u lower admissions standards.
Yup...I was washing my hands in the mens room while the conversation was going on at the water fountain. I gave the SGA rep the look of as I excused myself to get by them. She/he had a pretty incredulous look on his face as well.
if the sga rep were clever she'd responce thus: "well though I have no control over your placement, I do want to represent you. Give me you names and I will let the school know that you have these concerns". That would be fun to watch play out.

smokers.....

i think the school should help out our colleagues who smoke and get them to quit smoking and enjoy a healthier lifestyle. its tough to quit smoking and i think they need encouragement to do so. however, its a tough task seen as how many smokers enjoy smoking in the presence of non-smokers and deny its a problem.

more often than not when you ask a smoker to move somewhere else they look at it as a slap in the face. fortunately there are only a handful of people who smoke here compared to grenada. somehow they feel their smoke does not bother others.

most of all houstonian im sad to hear that you know someone who is addicted to drugs at this stage of the game. see if you can help them out or redirect them to someone who can help them out.

Smoking

I am sure if you would ask the smokers nicely to move away from the door, they would. Plus, these people ARE in med school, and when in every single class they tell us about all the side effects of smoking, eventually it would get to them. Some are just slower than others... Patience, my friends!

MBA-MD,

Of course I'm from Texas...don't you know where Houston is?

And if I'm not from Houston where do you think I am from?

Any chance you are from NYC and perhaps even South of Houston...as in Soho?

You've written about NYC in so many of your prior posts to not be from the city...
