I'm sure people will have things to say (Disclaimer: I'm an undergrad in California and haven't applied to any med schools yet; for SGU I had to tally for each specialty so I can be wrong a couple numbers here and there)

you have to realize something: you can have a class that all want to go into medicine. so take this with a grain of salt when comparing.

how do you choose the residency location. at that point is it still affiliated with the school? Does it have to be a teaching hospital?

no. residency is after you are done with med school. doesnt have to be affiliated with sgu anymore. you choose the location by where you want to do yours at and where you would be most happy at. all residency hospitals are "teaching" hospitals

well the above stats are probably wrong. not all people report their placement to SGU so if you used the SGU website to make your calculations.... it is wrong.
