CPR Test Study Guide

My friends and I were having trouble finding the online study guide for the CPR written exam tomorrow, has anybody been able to locate it?

1. Know the steps to follow if you should encounter an unresponsive victim
in a variety of situation, with/without emergency equipment.
-BLS for Healthcare Providers Chapter 1 pp 5-8, and Chapter 6 pp65-80.

2. Know the steps to follow if you should encounter a victim having chest
pain (Acute Coronary Syndrome/ MI) with no known prior heart history.
-BLS for Healthcare Providers Chapter 3 pp 25-30, Chapter 1 pp 4-6.
-Red Flags pp 26.

3. Know the risk factors for stroke and those factors that can be modified.
-BLS for Healthcare Providers Chapter 5 pp 50-52 and 57.

4. Know the classic signs of an acute stroke.
-BLS for Healthcare Providers Chapter 4 pp40-43.

5. Know the steps to follow if you should encounter an infant that is found
unresponsive with a history of prematurely and pneumonia.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 9 pp135-136.

6. A victim of a cardiac arrest with prior MI history would have the best
chance of survival in what give situation.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 1 pp 5-8 and Chapter 7 pp 91-93.

7. Best way to open an airway in a give situation.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 6 pp 67-69.

8. Know the best way to check a victim for adequate breathing.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 2 pp 68.

9. Know the methods used to deliver rescue breaths with a pocket mask.

10. Know the steps to follow in rescue breathing.

11. Know the steps for handling a chocking victim that has become
unresponsive.

12. Know the signs of airway obstructions and how to tell the degree of
obstruction.

13. Know the ventilation volume of air that should be provided to a child
based on age.

14. Know the rate of rescue breaths for a child.

15. Know what cause(s) air inflation of the stomach during resuscitation.

16. Know the location(s) for pulse check for adult, child, and infant.

17. Know the rate/speed of chest compressions for adult, child and
infant.

-Particularly pp 77 first paragraph right column.

18. Know how to determine if a rescuer is compressing with enough force
and depth.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 6 pp 78-80.
-Particularly page 79 # 2.
-Two-rescuer CPR pp 81.

19. Know the compression guidelines to follow for adult, child, and
infant.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 9 pp 155-159 particularly pp 158.

20. Know the correct technique for determining hand position for adult,
child and infant.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 9 pp 155-159. Particularly pp
158.

21. Know the most common problem(s) that may cause cardiac arrest in
children, and infants.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 9 pp135-136.

22. Know the correct ratio of compressions to ventilations for child and
infant CPR.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 9 pp 155-159.
-Particularly pp 159.

23. Know the best time to do the first pulse check on a victim that has
collapsed.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 6 pp 75-77.

24. Be able to give explanation of what value CPR is providing to victim
of cardiac arrest.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 6 pp 77-78 and Chapter 7 pp 92.

25. Know how to control the airway of a victim with trauma to the head and
neck.
-BLS for the Healthcare Providers Chapter 9 pp 146-147.

I hope i passed

Yeah Babu... I agree... that exam did have some tricky moments. I as well hope I got enough correct to pass. I noticed that reading the BLS book helped though.

Something a lot of people forget :-)
But really, med students tend to overanalyze the test. It's made for the lowest common demoninator, so if a question seems too obvious, it probably is.

Thanks, EMT. Unfortunately I asked too late and had to take the test blind. Hopefully I'll pass, if not I'll make good use of this thread before the next one

Congrats... unfortunately the grade doesn't count for anything, and you have to do it over again in Vinnies... :-)
