schools

Actually there is strong evidence to the benefits of attending SGU as opposed to other "foreign" Medical Schools, and clearly we've all decided that it is well worth the cost of attendance here. I just feel sorry for you--it sounds like you're completely incapable of making up your mind or having a sound decision, based on your switching schools so many times. It must be a real waste of time. I think you define the cliche "jack of all trades, master on none". Good work on that at least!

Sept class was 350? Yikes.

Uhhh, thanks for all the info. Did not know this would turn into a sparring match. Well, anyway, if SEPT was 350 students, how large was the winter (JAN) session? Was it just as big? Thank you for all of this great information. I too think St. G's is a great school, but, yes I have heard expensive. I am actually waiting to hear from Ross before I make my final decision.....

does size really matter?

Aug. 03 was 370. I was told by the Jan 03 class they started with 270. Sorry, i have no verified info on Jan 04 class.

kernb- I will have to agree with Steph. Although i do not always agree with DrB, i appreciate someone acting as a "devil's advocate" or rather someone presenting the "other side" of the picture. That provides balance and helps others to weigh both sides of an issue. Also, he always speaks from personal experience and offers his personal insight. Never have i seen him personally attack someone else on here. We are allowed to disagree but not to flame. Sometimes it helps to have the viewpoint of someone who is a little more "removed" from SGU and can see things from a wider standpoint. I'd say he has done quite a bit of research on caribbean schools, so his points are not without support.

And i'd agree with him in that the school probably wants your deposit soon because someone else wants your seat.

The Avg for the august 2004 class was approx 3.3 gpa 24 mcat, its probably the same for this incoming class.

the 325 number is probably correct but seems very high considering more than 70 people decelled and another 70 + took leaves of absence. Don't know if that 325 includes those who took a LOA.

teh 325 is only new incoming members; not decels, loa etc. there are few leave of absences typically anyway.
