    Hotel Residents --> Bring Sheets/Blanket/Pillow

    In case this hasn't been discussed, or if you didn't know, make room in your suitcase (somehow) for bedsheets, pillowsheets, blanket, etc. The hotel will NOT be providing these to us students.

    I think this is a good time to implement the vacuum bag strategy to fit all this!!

    If you were living in the dorms you would be bringing all your own linens too. It is the same.

    As far as the "space bags" (vacuum bags) go, I used them for everything on all my trips to the Caribbean. They have a high failure rate so I only counted on them the first time. Also there is no vacuum to use down there (I used my landlord's wet/dry vac once), so they are really only useful from the States/Canada to the Caribbean. Outdoor stores sells a different type of compression bag that you force air out of by rolling, but it doesn't work as well. I loved putting my stuff in space bags and extracting all the air making my clothes and linens shrink to the size of a pound of coffee. You can pack a ton in a suitcase this way which can get kinda heavy and if it fails your suitcase can burst. Just don't pack it too full.

    We "need double or full bed lines and towels." - according to Amanda from housing.

    Let the packing begin...

    Re: Hotel Residents --> Bring Sheets/Blanket/Pillow

    Hey just thought that I would let people know that they can find the "vacuum" style bags at Walmart. They are found in the sporting good section or the travelbag sections. The cost is $10-$20. The type they have do not require a vacuum. They are like big ziplock style bags that have one-way valves on the other end to let air out as you manually squeeze the air out. For those who are smaller people you might want to ask someone who is big and strong to help squeeze out the air to get a good seal. I have used these before and found them pretty reliable. See ya all in Grenada.

    Just a quick follow up. despite the fact that we are staying in a hotel, they've opted not to provide bedding? Does that mean i need to buy bedding to fit the bed in the hotel room and then ultimately the bed in the superdorms? Please advise. Does anyone know about the furnishing situation in the rooms? Do we have desks to work at? Are the hotel sized beds being replaced with twins?

    Thanks.
