i am glad to see i was not alone in my experience with the biochem exam. What the heck was that about anyway. I am writing a lengthy course eval for the dept to raise some questions about their testing method and how the class was organized (metabolism heavy for the final).Originally Posted by Toddaa1
Crazy exam, though I thoroughly enjoyed the instruction and their personalities!
that was a hard exam when i took it a couple of terms ago. its really hard to blame the profs. you should look into why you had a tough time. biochem is one of the only classes where everything you need is in the packets. you dont need any outside resources at all. the exams you are going to get in the upper terms are going to be more of the 2nd and 3rd order type so get used to the exam style.Originally Posted by Toddaa1
for most folks that biochem exam is an eye opener and get them into the right path. i agree it was hard when i took it but really lack of preparation or not knowing how to study for it would probably be your first two culprits before the profs.
hansford asks some pretty tough questions but all of his material comes right out of the packets. his questions are super long with so many distractors in them and thats what seperates the A's from the B's. dont forget there is a massive curve in that class.

First off, how much is a massive scale? will the A range be broadened or are they just going to make the B/C range bigger. The Professors told me 88 is an A 73 is a B 56 is a C. just hope they bring the A/B cutoff down to 87.Originally Posted by restlesseye
I agree with what you say about blaming ourselves, more than the profs, and I take 70% of the blame, as I was aiming for 90% instead of 100%. the other 30% belongs to a certain professor who misled us.
