books
I am not a 3rd/4th termer but I can offer my advice...
You have to get the immuno just cause its by the prof. She teaches right out of the book. THe neuro book (if its still Kandel sp?) dont bother in my opinion. Its too detailed. If you go to class and take good notes that would be sufficient. Instead you might think about getting the NMS or BRS for neuro. But if you are the type of person that likes to read details and learn i say go for it. THe physio is the same way...go to class take good notes. I didnt buy any second term books. If the physio author is Ganong, I heard that was a good book and might be worth getting. What I suggest is finding a second termer (opps...3rd termer) and looking at his/her books and see if you like them. hope that helped. Nimitt 3rd year |

Re:
As someone who just got out of Vinnie's, I'll give you my take:
Physio: I didn't get the text our year. I thought the BRS by Costanza was good & Costanza's STARS Review for Physio is a good read. Neuro: Don't worry about Kandel b/c the notes will suffice. Some people used High-Yield and BRS, but I didn't rely on it. Immu: Stanley's text wasn't great but she goes right out of it. I could've sworn she took a lot of her questions off the figures in her book. |
