the fault lies

I do think btw docks has a good point and one that i communicated to bay shore. the big probelm i think is as i said in the last post that folks didnt feel as if bayshore was concerned enough. That that perception is what came across by empasis on the start date of class resumption is just fact. Period. And that conversation was had with bayshore I personally assure you.

Comments

I found these comments buried in one of the forums at the SGU website...

Quote:
How those who left are helping the relief effort

Many of you who are now home may be asking yourself, "how can I help?" or "should I have stayed?" Obviously there will be monetary donations and food drives, but I'd like to tell you how just the fact that you vacated your room in the evacuation has been a big help.

Because you left:

1. an SGU bus driver without a house is now sleeping in your bed, with a roof over his head.
2. a hospital room is being cleaned using the disinfectant from under your sink and gloves you brought for anatomy lab.
3. the drinking water you left in your room is being given to thirsty relief workers.
4. the children of your housekeeper will not go to bed hungry because they are eating the food from your refrigerator.
5. we now have efficient communication and coordination with relief efforts since the numbers of relief workers are manageable.
6. you have helped this island recover. Don't feel guilty for leaving.

feel the same

After the hurricane , my first thought was to get my wife out of there. She was not handeling it well. Now that I'm home I feel extremly guilty and wish I was there to help. I'm glad other people are feeling the same. I'm am doing my best from home to help, buts its not the same as being there with a hammer and helping my neighbors put up there roof.

thanks for your thoughts kevin. Unfortunately im sure all students will have plenty of opportunity to do hands on helping as the devestation was that bad. But its great to hear people wanting to help so much.
