Troubled New York Hospitals Forgo Coverage for Malpractice

A light bulb went off in my head when I read this newspaper article:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/16/ny...t.html?_r=1&hp

Some of the hospitals they listed sounded familiar:
View clinical centers and hospitals affiliated with St. George's university

This will probably affect SGU somehow, I don't know how, but nonetheless a good read. I'm not informed enough to form an opinion on this, but I do think it's something people should read.

The last page did make a good counter argument about malpractice insurance serving as a lightening rod for lawsuits. Though it is scary that it possible lawyers might redirect their litigation to individual doctors with insurance. I do see one plus side, more rotation spots for SGU since it's obvious the hospitals need the money.

More rotation spots may not mean increase in quality of teaching, it might actually go the other way.
