who wants to pay 2 grand for this year's health insurance 2012-2013

OK so I received the info for our new health insurance and noticed they took out the cheaper option that used to cost less. So now our new health insurance premium costs 1907 dollars. This is certainly not the option for me as I usually don't go to doctors so I opt for a plan with lower premium and I really don't mind 500 deductible. Can any one in SGA please help and change this back to two options like it used to? otherwise i might have to buy my plan from other companies with the coverage I am looking for. Please bring back options with lower premiums! we have until July 15th.

Especially now that us gov is not subsidizing our loans starting july...

2 grand for health insurance? You think that's a lot?

Since I don't really go to doctors often I opt for a a plan with lower premium and higher deductible (like one of them offered last year) . I wanna avoid overinsurance because it's not practical: I don't need a ferrari to go grocery shopping.
Do I think it's a lot? Yes, considering my age is young, I can find better deals out there. Everyone has different needs and I am disappointed that school offers only 1 plan now.

Thumbs up to O for letting me still be covered under my parent's insurance. That'll save me almost $8k, though it really doesn't sound that bad of a plan.

Edit: apparently we can't say the president's name on this forum

I shopped around a last year, and the cheapest I found was $4k and that was under a parent's plan (public service employee so they get a deal or something.) I am also young, don't have any chronic conditions, and don't go to a doctor all that often. UHC has great coverage, IMO I don't think I could get a better plan for what I'm paying.

I have a high-deductible plan that's 89 dollars a month under BCBS. It covers doctors' visits, vaccinations, and has some prescription coverage.

Amazes me how often people complain about fees at SGU...or any other school.

I get private insurance (Blue Cross) for about $80 to 90$ a month.. so $2k a year is about double that.
