Thread: interview question

i was recently offered an interview for the md program. however, admissions said that i may be given the mph to md program instead of straight md. they included an essay that i need to complete for mph to md and said i need to complete this essay for the interview

i do not want to do mph to md- do i still need to write the essay?

does this offer mean that my chances a direct admin are low?

why was this offered instead of foundations or aep? should i ask for aep?

Only thing I can tell you for sure is that you're put into AEP depending on what admissions feels like doing with you.

Also, they could have put you into MPH-MD is because the next incoming first term is probably going to be insane, considering first term right now is at 600+ students.

but your post suggests that they have already decided my fate. instead, they said that the interview is for md, but mph-md is a possiblity

I guess I phrased that wrong. They could have said you are being considered for the MPH-MD just because your stats aren't quite good enough, as well.

I see it like this:

1. MD

2. MD w AEP

3. CFP -> MD

4. MPH -> MD

5. KBT (jk, jk)

The line between CFP and MPH is hard to draw. MPHr's I know sometimes didn't have all the pre-reqs, but some did. Not too sure how they decide that. There is also a post-bacc program too. Don't ask me how that is different from CFP, I don't have a clue.

I must have missed this. Are you saying the current first term class in Grenada is 600 students? Or is it first term Grenada plus GSP = 600 students?

Current first term GND is 650, UK is about 70... so 720 total.

Just to be exact:
647 in GND and 94 in UK so 741. It's not like 21 more students makes a huge difference when you're over 700 anyways.

They put me in MPH to MD,,, i kept bugging my advisor and asked her to talk to the admissions committee to put me in either direct entry or FTM or I was going to Ross as I was accepted. They put me in FTM. They did the same for another guy I know in my class after I told him, so its possible.

I have the same question. Got an interview invite for Aug 2012 but says I'm also considered for the MPH program and they attached an essay. I'm not interested in the MPH program so do I have to fill out the essay?
