Thread: Practice NBME before the NBME?

anyone else considering doing a practice NBME?
They are $60 for the practice tests with what appears to be a decent amount of feedback on your strenghts/weaknesses by topic.

Considering this is 40 points on our Pathophys grades, it could be worth it. Aside from pathophys, are these practice tests good samples of Step 1? Worth the time and money?

from what I heard so far, very much worth it, the closest to the actual score. I will not be doing any for our NBME though, I have KaplanQbank and UWorld, you can make up your own tests there.

They don't really give you much feedback unless you do get the extended reports. IMO you should have an idea which topics and subjects you're weak at, especially looking back on your basic sciences.

I've also heard NBME's are pretty much similar to your actual test. You don't have to pay at the site if you don't want to, the sell them at the papeleria. But after you practice some of them, it's always good to do at least one at their site. The more question you study, the higher the score.
