    Scholarship

You'll probably hear soon... I just heard about mine today.

I have a question for those who have received the international peace scholarship and loan combo. Does anyone know if the loan part is interest free? I'm trying to decide whether it is better than taking out the same amount through a private educational loan company such as ed invest.

    Thanks in advance

    hey there IP

    Hi there IP...

If you applied 2 months ago, I would say you can call the head office and see what's up with your file. I hope everything goes well for you though. Definitely give them a ring and just ask politely...

    best wishes

    GS

    Haha, wish it was!

No Sara, the loan part is prime + 3% interest rate, which is substantially high. Only go for the loan portion if you really need it. Otherwise, stick with just the scholarship...

    But congrats on getting both!

Thanks IndianBabu... prime + 3% is VERY high... wow.... i wonder why they charge soo much interest!? I would have thought they would charge less interest than the normal loan companies!

    yup

    Yup, its insanely high.

Have you applied for the Canada Student Loan yet? See how much you can get from that, and maybe then, you can make up for the balance you have left to pay off.

Guess we're in the same boat?

    scholarship

I was told that you can apply before hand, and that they hold your scholarship application UNTIL you've been accepted. Once you're accepted, they'll then look at your scholarship application.

Having it in earlier is probably an advantage.

    Good luck,
