    Flying through Trinidad

Is anyone who has flown through Trinidad able to tell me if 1 1/2 hours is enough time to make a connection? Iwould need to pick up my stuff after my LIAT flight and Check in to Caribbean Air--- and pray that not 1 but 2 Carribean airlines get my stuff to where it's supposed to be.

Piarco (POS) is fairly small but I think 1.5 hours is cutting it close. Add the fact that LIAT flights are typically delayed and you would have significantly less time to go through immigration, customs, recheck your baggage, go through security and getting to your gate on time.

Then again, the last time I went through Piarco my 10 hour layover extended to 17. So your mileage may vary.

As a general rule, the airlines suggest allowing for a minimum of 2-1/2 hours to do all the things digitalising mentioned.

Thanks- I am aware of airline recommendations, that wasn't what I was asking. I was more looking for responses from people that had been there- is there 1 customs officer like in Grenada? Are the check in counters 2 miles away from the baggage claim? That sort of thing. Sounds like it is comparable to maybe Barbados airport. THanks for the responses.

It's possible if you are quick, pushy, and proactive. Be the first to board LIAT so you can sit in front and can be the first to rush out as soon as it lands. Generally, there's a long line at immigration depending on what time you arrive, so if there are people ahead of you, ask them if you can go ahead as you have a flight to catch. Or try one of the Caricom National lines which are usually empty, instead of the Visitor lines, and explain to the officer. Customs usually doesn't have a long line, so if you can get past immigration quick, you should be able to collect your bags and get to the check-in counter less than 30 mins after landing. Which gets you there an hour before the flight. Check in online in advance so they'll be expecting you.

But all this works on the condition that LIAT leaves right on time, which they tend not to do.
