Very Confusing Question

Hey guys listen: Say if you filled out your AMCAS and sent it in and took the mcats on august 14 and flew down to st.georges on august 15 to attend the medical school which starts on august 16. Once the scores from the mcats come back say you do well like 30 or above and get an interview at a US school and eventually get accepted. What would happen then can you just leave st.georges ... and if you can how much money would you loose? Most importantly is this all even possible. I was accepted to st.georges already and have a 3.65 and a 27 mcats score.

No they tie you up and hold you down.
Of course there are folks who get off waitlists and leave sgu to attend school in the US. There is a calander of refunds on the sgu web site.

All it takes is money.

I thought that once you start med school you have to report your grades to the school you want to go or transfer. I think the AMCAS asks if you have ever attended a med school. So you are actually a transfer student and not a freshman. 8)

transfer...

Thats not true. If you started at SGU Aug 2004 and got into a US school for the following fall you will have to repeat first year over again and you are not considered a transfer. Rarely a school will take into account your first year at SGU and let you start at 2nd year. Matter of fact I cant even think of one school like that. I have a friend that did just that. She started with me and then got into UT Houston in Jan soon after she started 2nd term and left before the middle of the term and started year one in the fall. You are matriculating again and schools may even ask for your 1st term grades at SGU to see how well you did in med school as a determining factor for an interview or acceptance into their school.

nim is right about this- this is NOT considered a transfer. In fact I discussed this a few months ago with the powers that be.
