Repeated courses / computing gpa's
I was just curious how SGU looks at a repeated course. I have heard that some schools average the grades and others take the most recent grade and drop out the previous grade. Does anyone know?
Thanks, Christen |

most recent
I am one of those who retook almost every science class i had. It sucked. By my performance was always better. SGU only looked at those grades when calculating my gpa, but they did bring up the fact that i retook my classes. Just be honest about it. In short, just use your most recent (hopefully better) grade when calculating the gpa

brought up repeat courses
Do you mean they brought up the repeat courses in the interview? What explanation did you give them?
Mine is Calculus. I've always had a hard time with math and having professors who barely speak english didn't help. |

Foreign TAs
I love 'em. Here at Purdue I don't think I had a single american TA for any class I took. seriously. About the interview, I just explained that I took the classes before i had solidified my decision to be a doctor, and that I didn't take anything too seriously. I did a lot of growing up after my sophomore year, and then my grades were quite high. I think it is a pretty common phenomenon amongst caribbean students.

help calculating GPAs
Hi! I know this post started wayy back in 2004, but will somebody help me calculate my science GPA and cumulative GPA? I have taken classes at both an undergraduate institution AND at a community college and so i'm not so sure how I'm supposed to incorporate my grades from the community college in due to different units/credits.
On the application, if it asks for cumulative GPA..does that mean JUST the cumulative GPA from my undergraduate college or should I incorporate my grades from the community college too? I hope someone can help me out because filling out the application for the coursework section is sooo confusing to me. It seems as though most of us has taken more classes than can be filled on the application. Why, such a confusing task and I'm applying to med school...lol....so embarrassing...*sigh* By the way, out of curiosity, how much do students at St. George's from the US usually borrow per year from loans?
