Charter Foundation Program at SGU vs. Ross

I have been accepted to Ross U. School of Medicine for Sep '09. I've been notified by SGU that I have been selected to interview for the Charter Foundation Program.

Is the reputation of SGU that much greater than Ross to do this program? Also it's obviously not a guarantee into SGU Medical. So, am I better off taking the guaranteed spot at Ross Medical or is the extra effort (and expense) worth it to get into St. George's? Are there any residencies that St. George's will open doors to that Ross can't? Thanks for any advice!

Also, how tough is the charter foundation program? My MCAT is 30+ and GPA is at the SGU average. I was told I was placed in this program because I've been out of college/sciences for more than 10 years.

it depends on how much help you need through med school...sgu does have better support system during the 1st couple if years...if you fail a class you just retake at sgu...ross will reuire you to retake the whole term...if you are good on your own, then take the guaranteed spot at ross...

the end result will be about the same between sgu and ross..we have similar residency placements...

As far as I know, there isn't one.

here are the courses for SGU CFP and requirements

    -Abnormal Psychology
    -Biochemistry
    -Human Anatomy
    -Learning Strategies for Pre-Professional Programs
    -Physiology
-Principles of Molecular Biology (lab only)

Upon receipt of a grade point average of 3.50 or higher in this program
with no grades below a ‘C’, passing the Premedical Science Comprehensive
Examination (PMSCE) and upon the recommendation of the Director of the
Charter Foundation Program, you will gain entry into the Doctor of Medicine
Program for the class commencing January 2012. For those students that do
not pass the PMSCE, achieve lower than a 3.50 GPA or receive grades below a
C, there will be no opportunity to retake courses or the PMSCE and the
University will refund your cost of tuition.

i'm not sure about what the molecular biology lab will entail, i'm hoping someone will elaborate.

I'm in the same boat, I got admitted to Ross for Aug '12, or an invitation to interview for the SGU Charter program. I'm currently working on housing for Ross and simultaneously organizing an interview meeting for SGU's CFP. It seems like it would be better in the long run to go with SGU due to their support, any thoughts?
