Hello there,
Is anyone's parents traveling with them to the island (first termers' parents, that is)? If so, can you guys make suggestions as to where they can stay?

511 points My parents stayed at the Flamboyant Hotel. It is a pretty nice hotel on grand anse beach. It is also not to expensive.
live everyday like its shark week
6118 points My parents went the first week and brought luggage. Stayed at the Rex Grenadian, which was very nice. Oh, though figure out some taxi/reggae bus schedules in advance, or they'll end up getting massively taken by some of the buses that go in there.
Really nice rooms, their own beach, decently priced. They have discounts for students and occasionally run deals.

i'll be a first termer in august as well, and my parents are flying down a week after i get there in order to be there for the white coat ceremony + schlep down the rest of my stuff! after researching a bunch of the hotels and talking to an sgu alum, we decided on the True Blue Bay Resort. It's the closest hotel to the school (walking distance apparently), very pretty + moderately priced. they also give a SGU student discount! the room comes out to $126 per night plus tax and includes breakfast. there are a few hotels that are probably cheaper (and a lot that are much more expensive), but this ended up being the best all around for us.
Yeh my parents came down my first term and stayed at Rex

6118 points I substituted my blankie with my guitar and scuba gear, with the extra luggage allowance.

Why not let them stay with you in your apt...we all know how much trouble it's going to be for your mommy to nurse you if she's in a different hotel.

Funny, I went to GND with no blankie and came back from GND with a dog......
