For those who don't know Liverpool are a huge football/soccer team in the UK and are known worldwide. This foundation is a great charity and should be a great week. For those on the island looking for something to do come and cheer the locals on to beat the Legends...



LIVERPOOL FC LEGENDS TO VISIT GRENADA

The Jason ******* Foundation has announced today that on Wednesday 10 June 2009 a Liverpool Football Club Legends team will arrive in Grenada for a 7-day trip. The team will fly in on Monarch Airlines and will be staying at the Calabash Hotel in Lance Aux Epines. The 12-man Liverpool squad will include Bruce Grobbelaar, John Barnes, Michael ******, Gary Gillespie, Phil Thompson, **** Walsh, Phil Babb, Mark Walters and Mark Wright to name but a few.

The main showpiece event during that week will be a football match in the National Cricket Stadium between the Liverpool Legends team and a Grenada Invitational XI team on Saturday 13th June 2009. The event is anticipated to fill the stadium to full capacity, at a reasonably priced entrance fee of just $10EC for adults and $5EC for children (under 18). The day will be packed with music, food, and pre-match activities scheduled from 12pm onwards, with the match starting at 4.30p.m. Jason ******* himself and other guests from the world of football and sport will be representing the Grenada Invitational XI team. Local businesses will be invited to sponsor the match in the form of advertising, corporate hospitality and TV and media coverage.

The weeklong series of events will also include players attending coaching sessions at the Limes Special Education School, a "Shooting Stars" floodlight session at Tanteen Playing Field on Tuesday 16 June 2009 6.30p.m-8.00p.m, a corporate fund-raising dinner at the Calabash and a beach barbecue. All funds raised will be utilised for future activity by the Foundation here in Grenada.

The Jason ******* Foundation is keen to make this week a success as there is vast potential for regional exposure and for this to become an annual event. Ultimately, it will promote and potentially lead to further investment in grass roots sport.

Tickets for the match will go on sale w/c 18 May 2009.

Also, SHAGGY is coming to Grenada in concert this May!! I tried to copy and paste the link in here but I guess I can't do that since I haven't made enough posts on this forum yet...but if you go to google and type in "Shaggy Grenada" you'll find a link with the information if you're interested...kinda cool, he'll be here May 29-31st and will be performing in Gouyave, the stadium, and at Bathway Beach...could be a lotta fun
