Any upper termers have any words of wisdom for the first path exam (on Monday)?
What level of difficulty are the questions...i.e. webpath, Robbins Review book, BRS?
Thanks in advance.

A thinking ape.
FYI webpath and Robbins review are by the same guy, so questions are very similar. BRS questions were a joke, unless the new version completely redesigned them.
First test was a little easier than robbins review, only because I think there were less 2nd order questions than the other 2 tests.
510 points i think what made the first exam easier was that they gave you a diagnosis. exam 2 and 3 you first have to first figure out what the disease is before you can answer about some minute detail they'll ask you about the disease.
510 points Thanks for the input.
I feel like Goldilocks trying to figure out what to expect....I still haven't found the lukewarm porridge.
All we've been given so far was a 10Q quiz that was taken off and if you got something wrong...they didn't provide the correct choice or an explanation.

510 points historically this is the easiest of the 3 exams thus you should really try to kick it's butt. if you find that you did poorly on this exam seek help early. Dr. B is very friendly in the office setting and loves to teach and help students, so go meet with him to discuss ways to improve. but luckily you'll kick it's butt and that will mean that you understand the basics. knowing the basic disease process in path is key because then you can extrapolate that other disease processes. i.e. inflammation occurs the same way no matter if you're talking about bacterial infection or traumatic injury. Same with necrosis. knowing the basics taught in the first part of the course will help you greatly later on in the course.
good luck do lots of q's. and remember to go over the lab pics/slides. the same slide images will come up on the exam and if you remember what those images represented from the lab then you can answer the q without even reading it by just looking at the image.

If you do fair (C) on the first exam, don't freak out. I got a C on the first exam and still got an overall B in the course. All is not lost; just keep that in mind.

Ecela, what did you do to improve for the second and third exams, since they are reportedly much harder? Spent more time, got extra help, focused only on the notes, read the book, shared your come-back plan with current Term 4 students?

6118 points Goljan got me through a lot of path. I credit him for an increased performance on my second exam, since by then I was reading Robbins a bit less.
For the second exam, a friend of mine kept repeating to watch the time too, so I tried to get faster at reading CBCs and watched the clock like a hawk.
