Do You Have to Shave for an Interview?

I hate shaving and I would do absolutely anything to avoid it.
But I am not going to an interview looking like a caveman, I have a beard that is well trimmed.

Will interviewers frown on a person that has 5 o'clock shadow for instance, or shaved the day before?

Shave it, you only get one chance at this so look your best.

protip: don't pick your nose or scratch your privates during the interview either. that would not be good.
The glass is neither half-full nor half-empty: it's twice as big as it needs to be.

I did the reverse and I got in.

I say don't shave, that way we'll avoid tools like the one in our class who doesn't usually shave for his hospital visits.
I finally have my long white coat, and it is stinky...

Ok, enough with the smartbutt comments. I did not say I would go there looking like a bum or smelling like beer. I know a lot of respectful and successful physicians that have a beard. All I was asking is that is it ok to have a well trimmed and well kept beard when you go to your interview.

sure if your beard is neat and clean there shouldn't be an issue, if you just started growing it 4 days before and its at that nasty wiry awkward stage I would say no. Still best to be overdressed than underdressed for such occasions Also just as an aside, your interview could be very informal, mine was at a starbucks at 7 am when my interviewer was post call it wasn't a big deal.
