I think they are all one-man operations. A few, however, may operate in a small group, but I don't think there are any "taxi companies". Dexter, I believe, is the most popular and reliable guy for students. I think he caters almost exclusively for students, or at least he relies a lot on word-of-mouth and referral, so usually puts in the effort. Also, he owns three taxis, so he's the closest thing to a "taxi company" in the country (I believe). I also have a few others in my cell phone, but can't vouch for them aside from "used them once".

hey man, thank you so much. That's a great heads up. I ended up using the number i've used a few times now for a guy named philip and he came through about 10 minutes late but otherwise nice and safe.

Would not recommend him for reliability.
Yeah, I've used Dexter twice. Once because the guy I had arranged mixed up the time and was an hour late (I was already at the airport thanks to Dexter). The other time I went for dinner downtown with a group, but we had more people who could make it than we expected so had to wait an hour for Dexter to fin a larger cab to show up. One the way back, he had as cramming 11 people into 8 seats... not pretty. He does seem overbooked at times, so it's always good to have a few numbers on hand.

Yes, once you find a good driver, put that number in your cell phone. Reliable, safe, and trustworthy taxi drivers are like pure gold on that island. I used the same guy for the whole time I was in Grenada and he even helped me move. When my parents came to visit they brought him gifts for his family, we were that close. Unfortunately he doesn't do the taxi thing anymore so I can't pass on his info.

I've had good experience with CJ's Taxi Service the 2+ years I've been on the island.

He's reliable, safe, and he'll call if he's going to be late (and/or send another taxi). I've never had a problem with him, which is remarkable considering how often I travelled with him.

Whatever you do, try not to use the taxi's parked out in front of real value or the airport.

They always ripped you off. The worst part is that most of them aren't even nice. I don't expect them to be subserviant, but at least be courteous.

Actually our landlord is one of the guys outside of IGA and he's one of the nicest guys we've met on the island.
I finally have my long white coat, and it is stinky...
