Arrow Does Canada Student Loans fund SGU's premed/MPH/Foundations to Medicine?

Hi,

Does BCSL (the provincial portion of Canada Student Loans) & NSLC (the federal portion of Canada Student Loans) provide funding for SGU's premed/MPH program/Foundations to Medicine?

thanks

I don't know.

My suggestion is not to waste time going to FOM or MPH program at SGU and collecting loans. You will need that money for the 250,000$ MD program.

You can spend the year in Canada (at a community college) improving your grades and re-applying to SGU. It will cost you ~2-3000$ compared to whatever they charge at SGU... which I am guessing is much much much more.

This is assuming your GPA is not 2-2.9 and there is no way for you to bring it up. If your GPA is lower than this... than maybe you need to evaluate why it is so low and perhaps spending 2 years doing college at home or another bachelors degree (normally 2-3 years in duration anyway).

According to OSAP (ontario student loan), if you are studying outside of canada, may it be US or grenada or any other part of the world, the max you can get is $210/week or lesser than that per week. This depends on your financial situation, if you are highly in need of the money then you may be eligible to get 210/week. I am saying this b/c i recieved OSAP for going to a school in detroit and i couldnt get more than 210/week. This is my understanding of this issue, i may be wrong. if you need more info or verify what i just said, then place a call to (807)343-7260.

SGU is one of the approved schools that students can get funding from (at least in BC). I'm just not sure if the premed or MPH or Foundations to Medicine programs are eligible for funding. Does anyone know if they are?

I enjoy it when people are so set in their idea that they refuse to listen to logics.

But its your decision. To find out pick up the phone tomorrow morning and CALL BC student loan office in Victoria.
