On campus vs. off campus housing at St. Georges...
I received all of my resident life info, and it says that I can choose to live in an authorized off campus facility if I want. Does anyone know what the pro's and cons are of both. I guess if you have a pet you can live off campus, but are the off campus houses as nice as the dorms, or even nicer? Are they just as convenient to get to classes, etc. I imagine you can have a tv in an off campus house (I just found out that the on campus ones dont have televisions!!). If anyone can give me some tips about this, Id appreciate it

first term
unless you are married all first terms live on campus. I recommend in that case no tv until you get used to the work load and management. If youre married though the issues are different (including TV related!)

off-campus
Off-campus housing ranges from 500 to 3000 bux per month, and there is probably some cheaper and more expensive. I knew a guy in the peace corps living in a house in grenville for 400 EC a month! Now, there is no way that i would do that. The ranges are huge, but most students living alone are probably paying around 600-800 per month in rent from what I have seen. Some places include tv and cable, maid service, utilities, etc. I managed to find a one-bedroom that inlcuded all of those things for $750/mo. I am happy. If your only reason for wanting to live off-campus is to have a TV, i would just stay in the dorms. Otherwise, you will probably have to get a place sight-unseen, which can be scary. To contrast the dorms and off campus, there will be some off-campus housing that is worse than the dorms, there is some that will be luxurious. It comes down to your budget and what you want to get out of your "home-life." Also, I am married and my wife is coming with me, so I wanted a "comfortbale" place, for when she gets tired of the beach
