Did you include details of extracurricular activities, jobs, and volunteer? since the application only asks to list it, is the PS the place to talk about it?

521 points the PS is the place you talk about stuff not on your app! unless those EC and stuff you mentioned on the app have some real interesting experience and significance, i personally wont mention them again on the PS
511 points put all volunteer, extracurric etc stuff on the part of the application that asks for that stuff. its important!

If you get a warning, put on yer manpants and stop whining about it.
Agree with the above posters. The PS is not the place to discuss your ECs. The goal of the PS is to articulate your reasons for pursuing medicine. If the EC is intricately involved in this reason, then you should discuss it briefly.
I wanted to elaborate on certain activities namely, my research. I sent SGU my Curriculum Vitae so the adcom could have a greater picture of my research involvement.

510 points Personal Statement is about Progression.
1. Start at the beginning in terms of what made you interested in medicine (could be interest in science/biology, or an experience that peeked (sp?) your interest into medicine)
2. What did you do to develop that interest (and how it is relevant to medicine)...here you can mention your EC, research etc. what is important is what you learned through these or what qualities/skills relevant to medicine did you develop through these experiences.
3. Your clinical experience...to show that you have a realistic idea of what it means to be a doctor.
4. Why would you be a good doctor? Basically you have to bring all the ideas above together and show that you have what it takes to be a doctor.
5. Conclusion
