potential problem at the airport?

This is my first time traveling outside the U.S so i'm still a little naive when it comes to immigration processes. Anyhow, i lost the piece of paper that the immigration officer told me to keep when i arrived here. This paper is a tear off from the paper that you filled out on the plane. Has this happened to anyone else? Will it cause any problem on my way back home? Thanks.

They will ask you to fill it out again when you go through immigration, before the security check.

They can get a little peeved at people that do this, so make sure you say "hello, good morning officer. I'm really sorry but I lost my immigration form so I need to fill out a new one. I won't let it happen again" etc

Next time, put it in your passport with your customs receipt from your laptop tax and leave them in a sealed wallet until you need to leave

Don't you dare apologize! They will stiff you for 50 EC either way when you leave.

There's a 50EC departure tax. This isn't that uncommon in less developed countries but many students see it as an affront to their sensibilities.
