Histology retake final?

I heard that if you dont pass histo (get below a 70%) there is a competency exam or something of the sort that will allow you to not have to decellerate?

Is this true? Is this available to all students who dont pass? Is it still available to you if you ve missed a few labs?

I m at a low C right now in the class....dont feel too good about the final.

i think that rule only applies to a class which is 2 cre or less, which means only classes such as genetics, parasit, immuno and nutrition
none in 1st term

Jay knows much more about the bylaws than I do but I'll say that I heard the same as you last term, but I don't know anybody that was in that situation to confirm. Just ask Dr. P or your adviser.

Nope a Fail in HIsto means you will have to decel. Someone in my term had to do that.
Don't worry about that... leave ValueMD and go study. Forget about the failure, just work your butt off. There are a few bonus questions on the final... so that should help you.

if that was true like 1/4 of the campus wouldn't be here given that ~90 ppl fail first term every term (and 2nd term too)

You are recommended for dismissal. The student then goes through the appeal process if they decide they want to remain a student.

Don't panic! There is no reason to fail the histology final - everything you need to know is in that spiral book and it's not that much material. There is nothing tricky to understand or anything you have to figure out for yourself. It's all there. Just sit down and pound it out man! Good luck!
