Exclamation An Important Question - Please Reply

Hi everyone

Please, can people post up (scanned, photocopied, or linked, etc.) excerpts from SGU that writes how many times a student can decel or fail or etc before getting kicked out of the school -- basically all the academic regulations. I ran a search and there was a thread about it, but there weren't any scanned or photocopied excerpts about this matter from the school. So I was REALLY hoping that people wouldn't mind somehow sending me this information. My email is allie.84@hotmail.com if people wanted to send me this information using email.

PS: I am not a student so I can't access this information online, but I really need this information to decide which school is best for me to go to in the first place. So please help.

THANK-YOU SO MUCH. Please reply

for those of you who can access the manual, its on pg 82 on the most recent one

Maximum Time Allocation:
Basic Sciences: 3 years (e.g. the student must start clinical training
within three years of matriculation)
Clinical Sciences: 3 years (e.g. the student must graduate within three years
of starting Term 7)

Failure to complete any component in the allotted time will result in a recommendation for dismissal from medical school. It must be emphasized that the above segments are the maximum allowable, not the expected

and fwiw, i would worry more about passing classes instead of how long will a school let me stay and study medicine. if this is already in your mind, i suggest you reevaluate your desire and ability to study medicine.

You may find it comforting to know that SGU has many Student Support Services.

Here's link to SGU's page and info Student Success Division - St. George’s University - Caribbean Medical & Veterinary School

But you gave the info anyway - you are a good man. Your mamma raised you right.

To the OP - if getting certain information is critical to your decision-making process, a word of advice: an anonymous bulletin board is not your best resource. Please call the school directly to get accurate information.

Don't mean to sound preachy but it amazes me how much people rely on this site as an "official" resource.

Also, I wouldn't use a school's maximum allowable time to complete school as a major decision-making point for which school to attend. I understand everyone's priorities are different but how does knowing this help you make that decision unless you are planning on decelerating more than once? Which I wouldn't plan on.
