Rokshana,
I took anatomy 9 years ago and I still remember it! And I learned it to become a doctor, not to get A's on my exams.
I am glad you had a chance to review your classes with First Aid your first semester, but I did not open that book and most of my friends did not as well, since for most of us all these review books are just the review.
I agree, you have to figure out what resources to use later on for the review and so on, but the question here is that the person has limited luggage allowance and why bringing a book that he will not use at all his first semester? The first time you fly you bring most of the things with you, so most people pay a lot for the overweight luggage. Bring what's important, that's my advise. I am not saying that the book is bad or that he doesn't need it at all. I am saying that there are plenty of resources on campus and plenty of material to cover that he will not be able to review anyway.
Also, I agree that you learn from the first day of medical school. We do learn now and that is what medical school is about, that's why we pay big money for it. Why bringing review book with you if you have nothing to review yet? Waste of space in luggage, which might be filled with something more valuable...IMHO
