Ok but I think we can draw some general conclusions about cores - I have heard that generally, cores at Brooklyn Hospital are bad and that generally, cores at Methodist are pretty good. I had a good experience at Methodist, except, of course, OB/Gyn. IM was not malignant at all, in fact our preceptor is probably the best one out there for IM because he LOVES SGU students and takes good care of us. Of course, there will be variations, year-to-year depending on the crop of residents and chief residents.
Coney Island is not very good, in my opinion, because students don't actually do that much. And if you don't do, you don't learn. LICH and Maimonides are good, according to most people I've talked to but Maimonides has a very tough schedule for 3rd years with lots of overnight call, etc.
