no prematch (I wish)- ophtho is an early match through SF match. I got the recommended number of interviews, but would have gotten more I think if I were an american grad. i matched at the place where i did an elective, so IMO your aways count for alot. with my ophtho match in hand, landing a prelim spot was easier. forget about transitionals unless you want the boonies. I think i only got one interview - those are REALLY tough to get.
