Is it too late to apply for Fall 2008?

I have yet to take me MCAT, but I have a pretty respectable GPA (close to 3.5). I have taken the DAT earlier. Is it too late to apply to SGU?

I wouldn't exactly use the phrase too late, since SGU has rolling admissions. The absolute latest day that you can apply is probably a month or so before the start of term (I don't now exactly what this date is). It is better to get you application in ASAP, since it gets more competitive the closer it gets to the start of term.

Can DAT scores be used in place of MCAT?

If you are from North America, MCAT is required. If you are not from the North America, MCAT is not required, but it probably helps.

Judging by the way you are responding, I'm guessing you haven't started on preparing for the MCAT at all. Although it isn't too late to apply now (if you have taken the MCAT), for you it will be since you will have to devote at least 3 months of solid studying for the MCAT and then another month for it to come back. DAT and MCAT are totally different. If you studied for the MCAT, you are well prepared for the DAT with maybe about a week to prepare b4 the DAT, but it is not true the other way.

I wouldn't necessarily say you absolutely need to take three months to study for the MCAT. I took 6 weeks and did well. It depends on whether you covered the material recently in classes or if it's been a while, for me I had done everything except physics very recently. I didn't even have to study for the Biology section, but it might be different for you, since everyone is unique. It probably wouldn't hurt postponing your application until the January session, you're only losing 4 months right?

actually you lose a year since the january class will graduate with the following years class (so say you are aug 08= grad may 12, jan 09= grad may 13- due to the way basics are scheduled and the big break after basics for the jan class).

Which Carib. schools allow you to be accepted without an MCAT, and also allow for licensing in Texas?
