with those stats, you would be hardpressed to get into a US MD school (DO school doable) even with a 30 MCAT. I would just start SGU and save yourself a year. Either way, i wish you the best though.

Keep in mind, even if your attempt for a US MD school fails a second time and you attend SGU, you're not giving up on anything. You will still be a Dr. Many people have said to go to the caribbean as a "last resort." I personally don't think that is a good way of conveying it. It sounds like, do ANYTHING instead of going to SGU. like.. change careers, rethink going to med school... etc. This is the kind of attitude in a lot of premeds.. that if they don't get into a US school, they will not go to a caribbean school because it is below them, and many give up on that path. For those that do and never gave SGU a shot and changed careers, in my opinion, did not have the right motivations to be a physician to begin with. Yes, I believe SGU is a last resort to a US MD school if you can't get in.. but let me give you an example. US MD school..Big 4 schools........................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............Never becoming a doctor The "last resort" is just a tiny portion of becoming a doctor and is a HUGE difference in NOT going to medical school. I don't look at going to SGU has me giving up....I just want to give myself one more shot at going to a US school. If it doesn't work out...I would be very happy to spend another $75 and reapply to SGU....SGU is a great place and it will get me where I want to be.
I want to be a physician and I will do whatever it takes....for me, that includes reapplying to US schools :-)

July to April...things can change in a few months...it's how life works. Don't hold it against me. Now...this has nothing to do with the topic of the thread so I suggest we move on.

Cavalletti, trust me, I do feel it is a shame. However I was planning on attending a PA program at City College in NYC when I decided that the PAs weren't allowed to do enough in surgery and decided to stop whimping out and just go for MD. Also, might I add, I went to MUA with only 92 credits, I finished my pre-med reqs aug 06 and started MUA sept 06. if I had actually taken the time to finish a degree properly and take the MCAT i would have been 2 yrs behind... so I guess with every pro there is a con...
