No, I don't think so. SGU wants applicants like the person you mentioned. If they are accepted in US, SGU will go to their waitlist. Something must have been up with this person or you're not getting the whole story.

For sure it's best to have a completed application as soon as possible, the semester gets more competitive as start date approaches. I think it's reasonable to call SGU to confirm receipt of your second reference if you know it's been sent.

Definitely call SGU....they lost my first pre-med committee packet and I didn't know it until I called.

First, I want to say that I am new here and this forum has been very informative and helpful so thank you!! As for my chances...
I am currently in my third year of my undergrad as a Chemistry major. I have an overall GPA of a 3.26, a program GPA of 3.21 and in my upper chemistry classes (level 3000 and up), I have a GPA of 3.41. I have done one summer of research so far and will be doing more at my undergrad institution both semesters next year. I have yet to take the MCAT but am signed up to take them in August. I have volunteered at a hospital in Atlanta for a year and am continuing to do so until I graduate. I have received a few scholarships from my school and am a University Scholar in the area of chemistry. What do you think my chances are? Thanks so much in advance! |
