Post "What are My Chances?" Here ONLY

I am very interested in attending St. George.
I do not have a B.S. degree but have 206 units of college units.
I have earned Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and a licensed pharmacist in the state of michigan.
    My stats are as follows:
    Pre-requisite GPA: 3.25
    Pharmacy GPA: 3.03
    Math/Science GPA: 3.25
Been in Active Duty for a few years and served as the Assistant chief, Department of pharmacy for a Military facility.
I have not taken the MCAT due duty but will do so ASAP once back in the States. Officer in Charge for Inpatient pharmacy for 2 years and Served as the Recorder and Coordinator of Medication Use Evaluation Committee for the Hospital.
Well, that is some of my stats and info.
Anyone willing to comment on my chances of admission at SGU is welcomed (Positive or Negative)
    Thanks,

with a good mcat you have a good chance. And the Jan class is less competitive than the Aug class (in terms of of quantity of people applying not quality). So definitely apply early sept.

    MCAT hell!

I currently go to Fordham University at Lincoln Center in NY with a GPA around a 3.65 in Natural Sciences (BA). I am a published author in "Genetics" after doing research for over a year, I have presented at national and international conferences and am a humanitarian ambassador working for the USO of metropolitan NY. I also have taken many acting classes, showing my duel interests. The main problem is, I got a 24 on my MCAT last year and I have been studying to retake the exam, but I am getting mainly 24s on my practices. I am worried that re-taking the exam and showing two low scores is worse then just having one low score. What do you think? What are my chances of getting in with a 24 anyway?

If you're getting 24s on your MCAT practices, you probably shouldn't give it again, unless you think you can improve your score by at least 2 points. Your MCAT is only just below average (which is 26) but your GPA is above average (3.4). Getting in with those scores is very much possible. You can try to explain your MCAT score with any decent excuse. Particularly if you did pretty bad on one particular section (like below 6).

Given the gpa that you have, you would want your MCAT score to be little bit higher than the practice test. Good luck with the test! You are going to be done with it soon!

ah thats a tough decision to make...i m not sure what i would do if i was in your position...you have a nice back ground and good grades to back you up...i think it would be worth applying and to see what happens. What term are you applying for?

    Thanks Brainteazer,

If for some reason my score is around a 25-26...is there still hope for SGU?

    Appreciate the advice!

even with a 24 you have a shot - remember that the there are grades above and below the average - there are people that have gotten in with 22's and great LOR's. admission is not solely based on your MCAT, they want to see a well rounded person that shows signs that they are dedicated to becoming a dr. They know MCAT's are not the only indicator medical success. Apply as early as possible and you will have a better chance.

I can't believe that would be a reason to reject someone. Doesn't make any sense.
