Getting different insurance

Our members don't see this ad.
I'm looking for insurance plans outside of the school's plans and found one that I like at Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NJ. My question is will I be covered in Grenada if I got this plan? I called up the customer service number and the rep told me that he wasn't sure how that would work out and advised me against it. Any insights? Someone care to explain this to me?

Thanks!

So what is the best option to satisfy SGU for insurance while keeping more $$$ in our pocket since we mostly likely won't need it and if we do, we will be heading home anyways?

what i did was i kept my ny insurance since it was free.
but if you can find a cheap US insurance or have one already and u can keepit, i would stay with it and just buy the air evac fee which is only 40 usd

I used International Medical Group. They have many different plans and tiers of coverage. Customer service has been great so far but haven't had to file a claim.

See the past posts I made. I liked the IMG group angrybaby had, but when with estudentinsurance International Student Health Insurance - eStudentInsurance.com and it cost $400 for the year. SGU accepted it.

I use InterGlobal Student Care which costs about $600 per year for worldwide coverage excluding the US. It also includes other benefits apart from health insurance (e.g. insurance against loss of belongings, money, etc.) Check out studentcare.biz for more info.

which one did you select? I have always had school insurance--so this is the first time i would be having outside insurance.
